

The open source Chromium web browser is now enabled by default in Zorin OS 12, GNOME Software package manager makes installing new apps a breeze, a bunch of new apps have been added as well, including GNOME Maps, GNOME Weather, GNOME Photos, and GNOME Videos, and you'll be able to access your Google Drive account.


A new app, called Zorin Appearance, merges the old Zorin Look Changer and Zorin Theme Changer tools so you can easily change the desktop layout. Zorin OS 12's enhanced desktop environment also offers a fresh new look based on the popular Paper icon theme and lots of subtle design improvements for ease of use and familiarity. The GNU/Linux distribution is now based on the Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) operating system, it's powered by the long-term supported Linux 4.4 kernel, and ships with the Zorin Desktop 2.0 desktop environment. Zorin OS 12 is the result of many months of hard work, and it looks like it's the project's biggest release ever.
